Yakima River Canyon Marathon

I rode the bus to the start with Tiffany and Shir, we meet up with Sarah near the start, and our friend Jenny is supposed to be joining us.  As we're waiting at the starting line, I see someone walking to the start dressed as snow white, and think that person looks pretty awesome.  Wouldn't you know, it was Jenny, how did I not realize that immediatley?
Since me and Tiff had just run a 50K the week before, and ran a bit the night before the race, we decided to take a different approach on our goal time.  We would try to hit a time of at least 5:30, and have as much fun as possible.  Shir was in a hurry to get to Miners for some food after the race, so she wanted to finish under 6:00.  That gave us a 30 minute window to try and hit.

Since I'd be running during the Timber vs. Sounders game, I decided I had to run in my Timbers jersey.

Jenny found a guy running dressed as a firefighter, so of course they had to pose for a picture.

We decided to take pictures at every mile marker.

Mile 1, This is too hard, I'm just going to pass out here.

No run is complete without a gravel pit!

Mile 2, this was an interesting pose...

Mile 3, Charlies Angels

Mile 4, the four women

Crow Time!

Mile 5, akward class photo

Mile 6, Look, we made a 6!

Sarah found wine

Mile 7, Snow white and her seven dwarves.  (yes we found random people on the course to pose with us)

Mile 8, at Mile 8 we ate.

Mile 25

Mile 26, almost full

Somehow Sarah beat us all by 1 second for 317th place.  The rest of our group tied for 318th! And we were over 5:30, and under 6:00 mission accomplished!

We easily had more fun than anyone else on the course, and I qualified for marathon maniacs!

A few more pictures to finish with

Bob Dolphin in his 502nd marathon

I'm a rebel!

Except for what goes on here and facebook.  There was plenty that will stay in the canyon as well though.
